I took my Steyr M95 to the range today to burn off some surplus 8 mm ammo. At the 50 yard berm there was a kid hanging a target in the spot where I usually hang mine. The target he was hanging happened to be exactly the same - one of those cheap Scheels paper targets - the red and white ones. He was there with his dad to shoot his .22. Anyway, since he was there first, I hung mine way off to one side. And I then went down to the 100 yard berm to hang another target there. Back at the bench, range goes hot, and I shoot at "my" 50 yard target. Satisfied with where that was hitting, I move on to shoot at my 100 yard target. Next cease fire I clean up my brass and head down to the 50 yard berm to retrieve "my" target. But the kid is there retrieving that target. You guessed it ... I had been shooting at his target at the 50 yard berm. I wonder what he thought of those big bullet holes his rifle had been making?
So ... fess up ... anybody else accidently shoot at someone else's target?
