ok i've been looking on the internet all day because someone asked me about this. i know some places in Missouri you can open carry, but i was asked specifically for cass county MO. not too sure. im actually not to sure on the whole open carry at all.I hear that if you have your CCW in MO you can carry any way you like. open or concealed.. so does anyone know better than me? if so please give your knowledge!!!

A ccw permit has nothing to do with open carry in Missouri. Open carry is legal, permit or not, by state law. The only problem is that open carry is not covered under preemption statues in Missouri. Many cities (mostly urban and suburban, but some rural) have laws against open carry. In unincorporated areas, open carry would be legal in most every county. The only way to know for sure about a city or town is to ask, although some websites can give some guidance.

Even if it is legal, if you are in town and not out in the field, you may attract attention you don't want. This is especially true if no one else has open carried in town for many years. In one city in the St. Louis area an individual practicing legal open carry caused such a stink that a city ordinance against the practice was quickly instituted in response.

That is what I was going to say & if you don`t know for sure, call your Sheriff.

call your Sheriff

Who might just tell you what their personal opinion is, especially if they are anti-gun. It's much better to look at the statutes, most of which are available online these days... and see what the real statutes are.

The three largest sources of misinformation regarding firearms laws are local Law Enforcement, CCW instructors, and some people behind gun shop counters.
