I've never gotten fantastic accuracy with Remington factory ammo, but never got any that stunk....
But I shoot very, very little FACTORY LOADED AMMO.
I prefer to load my own......
I've gotten fabulous accuracy with both the 200gr .358" RN, in the .35Rem, and 150 and 170gr .308 RN in the .30/30.
I've gotten decent but not wonderful accuracy from the 150gr .308" bullet, but I'm not talking match grade accuracy. Just really good hunting accuracy.
Ditto the .308" 180gr and .257" as well as .284" bullets. My two .257Roberts shoot 1-1.5moa with the 100gr, and my Rem. M7 in 7mm-08 shoots likewise with the 140 and 150gr Corelokts, which is about as well as it shoots.
If you want Really, Really Good accuracy, you'll need to use a Sierra or Nosler bullet.
But, until the recent price spikes last summer, for the money, you couldn't beat a Corelokt for a dependable game bullet for a bargain price.
Now, I can't recommend them as they're as expensive as a Nosler BallisticTip (a much more frangible bullet, but very accurate) or the superior Sierra Game Kings, and Pro Hunters......... Cost is about the same now, but the Sierra's are definitely more accurate...... At least in most instances......
I've got a Savage M110 in .300RemUltMag that much prefers the Rem. 180gr Corlokts.......(but it ain't no match rifle!),,,,,over either Noslers or Sierra's.. go figure.
