in .270. For being the least expensive 700 that Remington makes, it is flat out a shooter. Quarter accuracy or better at 100 yds with Remington Core-Lokt Express 130 gr. Last weekend, I tried it with the Hornady .270 140 gr. Custom rounds and it was scary accurate. It is all black with the synthetic stock and parkerized (i guess) barrel.

If you are looking for a deer rifle (less expensive or not), you should definitely try to locate one. I would expect the 700 SPS to also perform well.

The furthest any deer have run is about 10 yds with this rifle. All heart shots. And I don't have an expensive scope on it either. Leopold VX-1 3x9x40.

It may not have pretty wood. But, I'll put it up against the pretty guns for accuracy.

I bought a .30-06 ADL synthetic a few years back. Brandnew in the box cost of $368 with scope mount and cheesy sling. I used the mounts, installed a better sling.

Capable of less than 1" groups at 100yds easily, with most any cartridge brand or weight I've tried.

I could have spent a lot more money and not found accuracy this good.

Rem 700

The Rem 700 is a very good rifle whether it wears a walnut, laminate or synthetic stock.
I have had many ADL models, they are every bit as good as the BDL in terms of accuracy.
I would rather have the ADL than any detachable mag version...........:)

I like the Model 700 ADL's, I have a BDL version in 270. Great shooter. My Brother got the ADL and I bought a BDL. Tis the way it is with brothers.

the ADL rifles are great. the stock is a bit flimsy, but it doesnt seem to hurt accuracy much.

I have too Remington 700 "original" bowling track lacquer wood stock cal 30-06. It is like new.

Dittos on the ADL.
I bought my -06 new in '06.
It shoots my 165 BT Horn. into sub inch 3 shot groups. I do not much enjoy shooting 5 shot groups in a 30/06, anymore.
I also like the having the iron sights on it. These are sighted in at about 100 yards(Minute of Fuzzy 6" circle).
Old 112

I bought my firts ADL 700 in .223 this year I put 5 in a quarter sized group at 100 yds with Hornandy 55 gr Vmax.

Bought a used .243 ADL for my son. It's a freakin' tack driver with handloads:D and pretty good with factory stuff.......

A Remington 700 is a sweet rifle and very accurate. One thing about the .270 Winchester that I have noticed is that it is an inherently accurate cartridge. I've seen it chambered in a number of different platforms and it almost always preformed very well.

I picked up an ADL in .270 from my brother in law last year. He got it new in 2001 or so and never shot it, literally it was new when I got it.

The first three rounds of cheap Federal 130gr sp's at 100yds from the bench were all touching, probably a nickel sized group, centered exactly 1" above the bullseye. This after I mounted a brand new Burris Fullfied II 2-3x40 scope w/Talley lightweight rings. I never touched the adjustments on the scope. Shot four more groups, same results each time. I put it in the case and called it good for deer season. I need to shoot it again this year before going out but I bet it will do it again.

I get a lot of trigger time on my AK, SKS's, .22's, AR, etc. but don't shoot the .270 enough.

My BDL was the same way when I got it new in 1988, and still is with the right loads. I am a Remington fan for bolt actions.
