Did you ever try 800-X? What kind of powder measure do you have? What do consider acceptable variation? Within 1.0 gr?Maybe it's ME ? but I've had zero problems with metering any powder , other than loading a Buddy's Trail Boss cowboy loads . Now that crap they should take off the market !. It's akin to metering cheerios cereal
When first starting to reload for my .222 Rem Mag (the load the military rejected in favor of the .223) two powders ran neck and neck for most accurate load in my Remington 700-IMR 4985 and BLC-2 (a ball powder). For no particular reason I chose BLC-2 as the one to go with. In over 50 years, it has been my "go to" powder, and I have never regretted it.Hi all:
I have a couple of ARs in 223. For the past few years I've been using CFE 223 and have no complaints. But I'm running very low and the only local gun shop around here doesn't have this powder. They do have H335 and I'd like opinions on this powder. Also I keep seeing where BLC-2 is a typical powder for 223. Anything good or bad to say about it?
Anyone care to comment on these powders. Again I'm only shooting 223s out of ARs.
That stuff is more like donuts than Cheerios. I love it for 44 mag though.Did you ever try 800-X? What kind of powder measure do you have? What do consider acceptable variation? Within 1.0 gr?

I will. I picked up 3 pounds of it shortly before it was discontinued. 44 mag is a low volume shooter for me.Enjoy what you have left of it. They don't make it anymore.
