I shoot a 1911 with Wilson Combat 8 round magazines.
I would have to load and shoot 500 magazines. :what:

Or run a Para-ord P-14, and only bring 200 (if you can afford that). :p

I remember going through ~1400 or so at Thunder Ranch, and I was hurtin' after that. I can't imagine 3700 in 5 days.....

Don't you feel that all of that shooting is not conducive to learning and absorbing the lessons being taught verbally? At what point are you just too tired to really hear what the instructors are saying?

I could be wrong, and probably am, but I thought shooing more than 200rd/session was the max for reasons of mental clarity.

Still, I'm gonna have to put BW on my to do list.

I have never been there, but I was giving that very idea some thought after reading this thread. If you fired 4000 rounds during a five day class, that would work out to 800 rounds a day. If you shot for eight hours a day that would be 100 rounds and hour; certainly not a ridiculous pace, althought it is a heck of a lot of shooting. I would have to assume that all the lecture material is done on the fly, or while loading magazines, or during lunch time.
I don't think I would like a course like that, but I would like to try it first to make sure.

well, i can't wait for my class. it's a 5 day course but only 3 days is pistol instruction. BW recommends 1500 rounds. i'm going to bring at least 2000 rnds. if there is 7 hours of instruction a day, that's about 100 rnds per hour, which is around the same rate as the 5 day total pistol course. sounds good to me.
