Can anyone (esp. in 6.5 Swede) who's used RWS, Norma, Prvi Partizan and/or Selliet and Bellot factory ammo comment on it's accuracy, field performance and quality (burning cleanliness, feeding, etc.)?

I'm willing to order some up to try out but they're an unknown to me overall, especially field performance (which matters most).

I cant speak about Privi's 6.5 swede, but I can comment about their 8mm. Wolf gold sells privi ammo under their brand. I used a wolf 196gr SP and a 1937 98K to take a nice 8 point buck at 75 yards. It literally stopped dead it its tracks...just an enormous exit. Way to much rifle/ammo for a whitetail!

I've always been impressed with S&B ammunition in any caliber I've had the pleasure of using it.

Always loaded to it's full potential, clean burning and very accurate to boot.

I use PP and S&B almost exclusively in my milsurps and they are both high quality non corrosive ammo. Most of the time S&B has a edge in accuracy but there are a couple of my rifles that seems to like PP better.

PP ammo is a blessing for those that shoot a Argentine mauser,French MAS,Carcano if you don't reload.

Many are worried about a gun ban,Im more worried about a executive order on importation of ammo which might jeopardize both of these high grade ammo.

On this particular day with one of my Swedes testing PP and surplus Hirtenberger ammo this is what I got.

On this particular day testing my Venezuelan 24/30 this is what I got from PP and SB.

I've used these in 7x57, RWS and Norma are first class although highly overpriced.

The S&B 173 SPCE is probably the finest hunting round that's ever been through my 7x57. Kills like lightning on deer size game. It's a little dirtier than the Norma/RWS, and accuracy only runs about 1-1.1" in my gun, but it works great. If they make the 6.5 with a SPCE bullet try it, you'll like it.

In the 6.5x55 if I go with factory loads I like Norma, Lapua. As a bonus the brass is very good quality from these two. I handload so this is important to me.

Have not used Prvi Partizan in 6.5x55 but have in my CZ 9.3x62 was very impressed with it for the price in that gun.

Never tried Sellier & Bellot in 6.5x55. But I have has issues with Sellier & Bellot in the past with other calibers so I tend to avoid it these days.

Never used RWS ammo other than RF 22 LR so can't comment good or bad on the centerfire RWS 6.5x55.

I dunno about other calibers, but Prvi makes good stuff in 22 Hornet, and cheap to boot.

H&R Topper 158. 100 yards.
The flyer is my fault.
Flyers are always my fault...

Prvi is good stuff, they also load for foreign militaries. As an aside, a Croation/Serbian friend of mine says it's pronounced "Prah-vy Par-t-zan".

"RWS and Norma are first class although highly overpriced"

neither are overpriced, you pay for the quality you get, i shoot norma cases in my .22-250's and .308, i can ALWAYS get 15 loads out of them, usually 18-20, with winchester cases i usually get about 8, $50 for 50 .22-250, and $30 of 100 22-250 winchesters, do the math, you SAVE $$$$ by buying the more expensive cases.

Fair Pricing

Indeed - the PRVI ammo is very good - and if you figure on bang for the buck, they are outstanding.

RWS, Norma, Lapua and other Western European ammo and cases are excellent - but not worth a couple bucks a shot IMHO. On the other hand, S&B and PRVI that I've shot were comparable in quality. I can't say that other producers market the high tech specialty ammo that RWS makes (for elephant, for example) but they cover the rest of the bullet types.

I can't for the life of me bring myself to pay $40 for a box of cartridges when I could get a box of the same stuff for $12, boxer primed, non-corrosive primers.
S&B and PRVI have produced for international contracts for decades.

If I were into match competition, I might buy Lapua brass... but I'm entirely happy with the lower price option. I didn't know that Wolf Gold is PRVI - to me, that's a good thing. I'm still watching the Wolf stuff that I've bought - but that, too, seems to meet my requirements.

Prvi is the best of the low priced brass ammo. It's made in Serbia. Another low priced brass ammo is Igman, which is made in Bosnia.
