I have a pt92 that shoots extremely well.the local range has a pt 945 in black and gold for $330.
any experience with the 945?
are these as reliable and accurate as the smaller caliber taurus pistols?
any experience,problems,tips etc appreciated.
thanks.

$330.00????

I have a Taurus PT945 in stainless - bought it back in 95 or 96, has eaten everything except Cor-Bon, seems the recoil spring isn't strong enough to handle the load without stove piping. All others, ball and hollow point work just fine.

I love mine - hated the plastic grips - so a call to Taurus and got me a set of the syn pearl and haven't had any other problems or complaints about it. Real pretty gun. And it holds 8 rnds.....

I paid $340.00 when I got mine - we sell them at the store for $505.00 now (stainless). So if you got a Black and Gold for $330.00 - I say grab it.

Mags are expensive - but now a days - which ones aren't?

I'm sure you'll like it and it is very nice looking to boot.

Happy Shooting......

I bought my SS PT-945 new about 2 years ago and paid $400 for it. It recently developed a failure to extract problem that I haven't figured out yet. A good friend that I shoot IDPA with has one in SS also and has had zero problems with it. Other than the FTE problem I really like it. It fits my hand nicely and conceals pretty well, plus it's as accurate as I can be.

Stay safe.

taurus

Last month I convinced myself to buy a T. PT945; had lots of positive comments on this forum. Wish Sig had a 45 to go along with my 220st, not the P245; and I decided the Taurus would be a good choice: assembly/disassembly is simple, single stack, like the safety and decocker; lifetime warranty; and possibly their construction is better than the 99AF and 92C I had ten years ago. Unfortunately, they are NOT on the approved list for Calif.
