Optic for my VTR 308 ????

I need a scope for my new VTR 308 and I'm lokking at these scopes and uses:
Target shooting, 300-600 yds..
$300-$500 for the scope and I'm looking at Nikon monarchs and Burris full fields. WHat power would you suggest or other brand. Thanks,

Super Sniper 10 or 16 power.

At that price point the Monarch is the best for the money. A 4-12 should get the job done, unless you are looking to bench the gun all the time in which case go up to a 6-18 or so.
