Took my new EAA Witness 10mm standard steel frame to the range for the first time Saturday. Didn't shoot a lot, since I need to make a brass catcher to prevent losing a third of my casings. My initial impression is that I'm disappointed with the accuracy. Firing @25 yards with my hands rested on a support, my best group with my K22 was 1-3/8" (Federal Auto Match), with my .32-20 Colt PPS 2-3/8" (90 gr SWC handloads) and with the EAA something like 6 or 7" (not entirely sure, since I had 3 bulls on one 17" target paper, and I'm not 100% sure which outliers go with which "group," to use the term generously). I shot the same model as a rental last year, and thought it did considerably better. If this gun can't do under 4" @ 25 yards, I'm selling it.
Of course, there's lots of variable here. Me getting used to new sights, me generally sucking, a fairly stiff trigger, ammo (shot mostly 180 gr. plated Rainiers over 12.1 gr AA#9, a few Nosler 150s over 14.3 gr #9 or 7.5 gr Unique; much to explore there). I should buy a box of the Serbian 10mm Lite I used last fall and see if that is magic.
To try to take the sight alignment out of the problem, I'd like to try an optical sight. What suggestions for a decent reflex sight or low power scope? Not disposable crap, since I'd like it to survive and be usable on a future draft pick in the form of a magnum revolver...
I do plan to cheap out on the mount:

If worshiping at the altar of Locktite doesn't make this POS work, I can always buy a Mako later (or give up on the project and just get that revolver.)
