Any Hi Cap gun is going to weigh more probally becasue of the weight of the ammo.

Since you are already accustom to the controls and operation of a 1911, why not just get a Browning Hi Power?

I think we have a problem here....they don't make enough SAO pistols!

Atomd your right, until this thread I did not realize that there are not as many 45 ACP Pistols that are: high capacity, compact, polymer, lightweight, and single action as opposed 1911 variants and traditional DA 45s.

I also agree with rklessdriver. If you are familar with the 1911 platform and want it to be high capacity, compact, polymer, lightweight, and single action then stay with a 1911. The Charles M-5 Ultra Compact .45 ACP with a 3.15" Barrel from my eariler post fits the bill

I was looking for the exact thing you are - single action, plastic frame, reasonable mag cap. The only three that I could find were the FNP and HK USP and USPc. HK's HK45 and HK45c can also be carried cocked and locked but I don't know if you would consider those hi-cap. Ended up with a USPc and then an HK45.
