I asked this in a post, and though I'd make it a subject of it's own.

QUESTION:

Dave and everybody else: Has anyone ever actually seen an "overlapped" magazine spring.

Here's another one.

Ever seen a broken plastic magazine follower that "allows the magazine spring to enter the receiver, jamming the gun"?

In many years and hundreds? of 870's I've never seen either one.

I've attempted to INDUCE an overlapped mag spring, without success.

I have never seen an "overlapping" spring, but I have had to change out the plastic follower in a 20 gauge 1100. It became so difficult to load rounds into the magazine that it turned the gun into a single shot. A stainless steel follower from Brownells solved the problem. The plastic one that I removed did not look all that worn out, but it was obviously the problem.

Answered elsewhere, but no. I'm sure it can happen, given the huge number of springs out there.
