Owning two of the same gun

One of the older gunscribes was a fan of "a pair and a spare", which always seemed a little silly. But then it started happening with carry guns (in this tumultuous age), and I ended up with 3 42s, and now 3 365s.
The trick became telling them apart at a glance, and they are now all different colors.
Just seems like a prudent thing.

I mentioned that I had several BERETTA 92's and RUGER Security Six's, but I also have another pair.
I went to the range Friday with one of my S&W model 15's with a 4 inch barrel and HOGUE grips. HEAVEN! When I just want to shoot .38's, these a my favorite revolvers. The balance, the smooth trigger ( I bought them as Bureau of Corrections trade-in's), just right size grip with the HOGUE'S on and best of all, they were CHEAP!. I paid $279.00 each for these "beat up and marred trade in's. The former users had used a screwdriver or knife or even a can opener to mark their I.D.'s on them, but do the shoot.
I am now up to 1045 rounds through this one and 870 through the other and they look just as good, or in this case as bad as when I bought them. Action is tight, trigger smooth and shots are accurate.
When I shoot really hot .38's or .357, I usually use my RUGER'S, but for a range trip with standard pressure ammo and even a little +P, they are great.
Just in case, I keep them loaded with FEDERAL 130 grain +P HST hollow point, which expands like nothing else I have seen in .38 Special.

Not nuts at all. I have 2 SIG Sauer P220s, 2 Glock 21s, 2 Glock 45s, 4(!) Glock 19s...
