why did they switch to the heavier slide in the first place? Behind the scenes manufacturing reasons for machining, or am I missing an obvious advantage for the consumer?
I mean, the weakest link durability wise was the frame anyways, right? Not the slide. Now, with the heavier slide banging on the same frame, just seems like it would only compromise the rails/frame sooner. On the stainless frame I understand it. But what is the consensus of the sig community on this? lol as if there is ever consensus. upgrade or downgrade? or nonfactor?
