I have a set of Pachmayr open backstrap Gripper for a K frame. The really weird thing is that they have a lanyard ring. It's absolutely factory, being that it has a 1/8th inch slot running along the bottom of them for this feature.

I cannot find this anywhere. Has anyone else seen these? Any info would be helpful.

 Very strange.

I have no idea, that sounds incredible though.

Sounds like a decent little addition for a trail carry 66 to me.

Slot for serial number?

Somebody on another forum says that the slot is to see the serial number on the grip frame. I have a closed back Gripper without this.

I'm not sure, but you absolutely cannot tell it isn't factory.

And you are right, it is absolutely awesome. It swivels, stays centered and works great. I'd suggest that if the slot IS factory.... add a swivel to it.

Here's a pic

At the base of the grip, on the bottom, there is a 1/8" slot from front to back. It is about 1-1/4" in length. Sticking through this slot is a 1" lanyard ring that swivels, just like a rifle sling swivel. (might be)

Again, it's done exactly right. Looking at the inside, it looks factory.

Hamilton Bowen makes/sells a lanyard ring for Hogue monogrips (replaces screw) and others on his site. Same? Don't know, but if you check out his site I'm sure you could "line em up" so to speak.

Hope this helps.
