I'm with OnMilo. The Chipmunk in my house will shoot 1/2" groups at 50 yds. Fun gun for both kids and adults.
On the AR-7- you really have to crank your neck down to see through the sites. - just one of the negatives about the thing.

Well, if we're opening it up to youth-size single shots, not just take-down rifles, there are lots to choose from with a street price under $200: Crickett, Chipmunk, NEF Sportster (as short as the rest with 16" barrels, but with a 20" barrel), Marlin 915 (blued or stainless finish) and many more. The 915YS with a stainless finish and hooded fiber-optic front sight would be a great choice, IMHO.
