Tried to access the Packing.org website and this time it appears that the domain name doesn't even exist! I have seen occurances when it's down for upgrading but there is usually a message or the typical error page.

I wonder if the guy that runs the site forgot to renew the domain name??

Packing.org is going down hill. Many states have not been updated in a ling time and it gets further out-of-date every month. Many of the admins are moving on.

Try www.handgunlaw.us for Up to Date Info on CCW

Some of the Admins at Packing.org have moved on. A couple have moved to www.handgunlaw.us. There you can find the most up to date info on CCW on the web for all the states. ................. Gary Slider

Gary, even that website is a tad out of date, although it is well ahead of packing.

So, what was the deal with all the mods leaving? You guys have a big fight behind the scenes?

Gary,

Kansas' new law seems to give universal reciprocity.

Sec3c.

I will note that I did sort of jump the gun. That section won't come into effect for a while.

This new packing notes TN will acknowledge KS permit, but not the other way around.

All things considered, the new place looks nice. Thanks for sharing it.

The domain name is fine and is registered until 2012. I checked it over six hours ago, it was down, and is still not up. Probably just a simple issue requiring one dude to do something (like, a re-boot). It's not exactly amazon.com we're talking about here and there is no need to go tin-foil on this one yet.

KS does not offer Universal Reciprocity

The law states the AG must decide which states Kansas will honor and post a list of such states. Kansas will not honor all permits but must decide on a state by state basis. I am wondering if the Kansas AG will list states they honor as that part of the law becomes effective 7/1/06 and they will not start to issue permits to their residents till 1/1/07 as the CCW Part of the law does not become effective till them. Will they honor states permits before they give their own citizens the right to carry? IT will be interesting to watch. You can go the KS AG's web site and sign up to get email reports when they post something about CCW on their web site. Stay Safe, .................. Gary Slider
