Yes, this stuff is horrible

I bought the same ammo about a month ago but havent been out to shoot yet until today. I have owned my glock 19 for almost 10 years now and it has NEVER misfired or jammed. Today I had 4 fail to ejects and 2 fail to feed in 40 rounds total. I am very disappointed with this stuff. I have 210 more to choke down. As earlier noted, I thought some of it felt really strong and then some quite weak. The weak ones caused the FTE. I hope the Glock can handle the next 210 I put through it without any excess wear! It will boil down to probably 175 successful shots anyway. :banghead:

The WWB stuff was not at walmart in my area, that why i opted to order some of this crap. Where can I write a review on the guide!!!?

I just bought 500 rounds of MFS Hungarian 9mm Luger. It was from Cabelas and cheap ($9.99). I searched on it and saw almost all decent comments on it...not perfect, but ok.

I shot 50 rounds this past week and each (17 round) mag had at least 1 FTE, sometimes 2. My S&W M&P NEVER does this, so I'm assuming it's the ammo...esp since I put something else in there after and had no problems.

That said, I'm not too worried about it. It will be used strictly for regular practice, not action shooting practice, and it will give me practice clearing FTE's. I need to make that more automatic also. It's still a big step up from dry-fire practice.

As for if it is 'dirty' or not, I dont know, I havent cleaned my gun since.

Funny - I did call Pakistan, they told me to press one if this call was about suicide vests, two for IEDs, three to establish a Seven Eleven, four for Dunken Donuts, five for service stations, six if I was inquiring about a taxi license, or to just stay on the line because my call was important to them but all their operators were busy on line one.....

I took delivery of 500 rounds of the Pak 9mm from SG around the time this thread got started.

It came wrapped in plain white plastic packets of 50 rounds apiece. In view of the dire warnings I inspected each round but they actually look fine, not at all dirty as someone commented earlier.

For the range visit earlier this week I selected my most tank-like pistol, a Ruger P-95. Fired 100 rounds; 97 were OK, 3 were click-no-bang with solid primer strikes and 2 of those fired on the second try. Other than the 3 misfires there were no ftf's, fte's etc. Yes this is HOT ammo, +P at least. Louder than usual report, stiff recoil. Almost every bullet keyholed the target @ 25 yards. As you'd expect this stuff shoots dirty but I've seen worse and the pistol cleaned right up.

I will shoot my remaining 400 rounds without trepidation now that I'm (reasonably) certain the gun won't detonate in my hand, but doubtful I'll buy more. Decent range ammo at a very good price, obviously not for self defense purposes because of the duds.

It's funny, but the customer reviews there seem to love it. Either that, or perhaps they only print the positive comments.

Appears they're out of it anyway.

Sportsmans guide emailed me about how i liked the product & i told them the same thing i printed here. they told me ammo is non refundable, & that since its military ammo, there may be in variations in the ammo due to long term storage, age, etc.i thought they would at least give me a coupon or two. like i said, its the only time i ever got bad ammo from them.i was firing this junk out of a walther p-88,which never misfired, fte,or jammed untill i used this stuff.maybe we'll get lucky & they will stop importing this junk & it will be sent to the taliban...:neener:

I saw a snippet of video with a reporter in an arms bazaar in Peshawar...little kids makin' AKs and reloadin' ammo. No thanks. Not to mention all the "Tangos" hangin' around.

I had the pleasure of making several visits to the Pakistan gun markets during a fifteen year association with the Pakistan Air Force. It was an experience to see kids and old men pounding out AK47 receivers by hand and hand loading ammo. Would I buy any? No way.

Almost every bullet keyholed the target @ 25 yards.

That's horrible. I wouldn't exactly call that decent range ammo. I wonder if anyone has put these rounds to a micrometer (to measure bullet diameter) and weighed them to check for consistency.

I've put three or four boxes of it through my P95. Yes, it isn't perfect and has the occasional light load but no other problems. Ruger does state that their 9mm pistols are built to take any kind of load made to published specs, SAMMI, NATO, +P, +P+, whatever so I'm not concerned about the power of the loading though.

Can't comment on the cleaning. Everything seems easy compared to my Mosin rifles - no matter how much you clean those you still get green patches out!

My local Dunhams used to be selling it cheap and I got a bunch. Now they want $12.99 per box, same as Remington UMC... :scrutiny:

If you don't like yours, send it here! :)

If I shoot it I reload it, except of course rimfire. Sure brass & bullets for some calibers can be hard to come by and primmers and powder can be in short supply, but at least I know the ammo is the good stuff because I made it.

My one and only attempt to do business with the Sportsmans/guide was terrible, I was so disappointed in what I believed was their lack of professional behavior; I will not do business with them again. I hope I’m the only one.:cuss:::banghead:

I have tried them a few times (never for ammo) and my experience is lots of what they sell is crap and the prices are not that great.

I think I have returned everything I have ever gotten from them. They have been very nice about taking it all back, though.

The catalogs make for good potty reading; that's about all.
