I ordered some 223 ammo from them awhile back. They ran a special on 62gr green tip manufactured by Federal (IIRC $160.00/500). I placed the order (backorder) and received 3 emails over 1 years time asking if I would like to cancel the order. I found this shocking as the price was now about doubled. Over 18 months later I have a package at my front door. Curious as I hadn't ordered anything recently, I bring it in and its my ammo, well ammo of that particular caliber anyway. It was Wolf lacquered steel cased in 62gr fmj. I immediately call SG and they did nothing for me. They asked if I was certain I didn't order that specifically. I reload 223 and wanted brass cased, can't reload steel I explained. She was no help and basically said that's what I get for backordering for so long. If I didn't want it I could return it for a refund. I explained I could sell it for twice as much and not be on the hook for shipping to which she replied "Then you do not have a problem now, do you, Sir?!"
Yeah, they're crooks as far as that goes.
As a side note, most credit card transactions get dumped in bulk to a company to get processed. During its transmission and with the right kind of software, anyone could potentially hijack your info.
I once had a smart hacker clone my bank card and use it for everything from gas to smokes to snacks, but no more than $10 at most. It took almost 6 months for me to notice. I since stopped using my card for convenient transactions. All tolled, almost $900 dollars were missing I could not explain. The only reason I caught it is that I am working South of the city and had transactions pending to the West during the same timeframe. Now how did I get coffee over there if I am here... Diligence with your accounts are crucial when using cards.

Do not trust anyone you cannot see. Trust few you can see.
We put fraud alerts on ourselves, renew every three months.
Lifelock has detected a thief for us. We are customers for life.
We have had the credit card number stolen twice and my Wife's identity taken once.
We now have a check card that we load at the time of transaction with the amount necessary. No overdraft authorized. I hate thieves. I would gladly burn them down with no remorse.
Talk to the fraud prevention department at your bank to get other ideas for safe guards.

one of the boxes of tula 7.62 ammo only had about 7 of the 20 rounds that were supposed to be in there.
Entirely possible a malfunction in the packaging equipment at the plant. It would be smarter for someone skimming to remove a single round from multiple boxes, much less likely to be noticed.

I started ordering from.........

........SG in the mid to late eighties when it was a fledgling company. Was satisfied for the most part. I have been purchasing various items elsewhere for the past five. Noticed that the deals weren't as good as they used to be. Didn't know Gary sold the company. Now I know why they aren't as good as they used to be. Still belong to the Buyers Club and order some stuff, but definitely not as much as I used to.

I order from them very often. They offer free shipping often. They give gift card often if you buy X$ worth. I often combine gift cards with free shipping. I've never had a single issue with them.

Target just got hacked, 40 million cards are at risk of being emptied and many already have been. This is why I avoid using my card at all.

I will go out of my way to withdraw at my bank, and then use currency for my purchases. As for online ordering, I will only do that in very few and limited circumstances. But I'm old school and am willing to cope with the inconvenience associated with taking such precautions.
