I ordered some 223 ammo from them awhile back. They ran a special on 62gr green tip manufactured by Federal (IIRC $160.00/500). I placed the order (backorder) and received 3 emails over 1 years time asking if I would like to cancel the order. I found this shocking as the price was now about doubled. Over 18 months later I have a package at my front door. Curious as I hadn't ordered anything recently, I bring it in and its my ammo, well ammo of that particular caliber anyway. It was Wolf lacquered steel cased in 62gr fmj. I immediately call SG and they did nothing for me. They asked if I was certain I didn't order that specifically. I reload 223 and wanted brass cased, can't reload steel I explained. She was no help and basically said that's what I get for backordering for so long. If I didn't want it I could return it for a refund. I explained I could sell it for twice as much and not be on the hook for shipping to which she replied "Then you do not have a problem now, do you, Sir?!"
Yeah, they're crooks as far as that goes.
As a side note, most credit card transactions get dumped in bulk to a company to get processed. During its transmission and with the right kind of software, anyone could potentially hijack your info.
I once had a smart hacker clone my bank card and use it for everything from gas to smokes to snacks, but no more than $10 at most. It took almost 6 months for me to notice. I since stopped using my card for convenient transactions. All tolled, almost $900 dollars were missing I could not explain. The only reason I caught it is that I am working South of the city and had transactions pending to the West during the same timeframe. Now how did I get coffee over there if I am here... Diligence with your accounts are crucial when using cards.
