Paper Cartridge Tips Please?

The best funnel I have found to use are from a doctors office. The ones that fit on an exam tool to look in the ears or what ever. So far I have several and they come in two different sizes and work great. I drilled a small hole in the flange at top and attached it to the power horn. I have another appointment with one this month and good thing is the head nurse there is my niece so I will see about getting a box of these and can send some out if anyone is interested in them.

Here's my conclusions on my roll-yer-owns:

Pro:
More flexibility in when and where you can shoot. No need to take a range box.
Very quick loading when compared to the traditional loading stand and components needed.
Paper cartridges actually make it easier for me to go shoot, anytime.

Con:
Time consuming making the cartridges, but no more so than a single stage press for brass.
Added expense of the papers, but I think I can still afford the tenth of a penny per cartridge increase.
Higher possibility of a hang-fire.
Tendency to clog a nipple with paper and having to fire a cap through it when the pick won't clear it.

All in all, I think I'll continue to make the paper cartridges. If for no other reason than the novelty, but mainly because it allows greater flexibility for me to go shoot. I am having issues with folding over the end though. I'm averaging one clogged nipple per two cylinders that has to be cleared by firing a cap through it because the pick won't clear it. I think for the sake of reliability I will probably just twist the ends from now on, open the cartridge and pour in the magic mixture. This adds a few seconds to the process of loading but completely eliminates clogged nipples, the possibility of a hang-fire and any left over paper in the cylinder. Worth those few seconds in my opinion.

I could probably eliminate most of the above issues if I switched from cigarette papers to nitrating my own but the process would at least double the time it takes to make the cartridges. I'm glad I finally got off the fence and tried this.

Hi
Shooting 5 differant shotguns bp. Double, single, short, long, 10, 12, 20, cap and flint.
This might be to much. As far loading and glueing that paper. I will give it a try let you all know. Walker that is a good idea with Doctors ear light. I have a good one, makes a good black powder bore light, too.
