Went shopping yesterday. My new office needs a new defense gun. Wound up with this one. I can't get over the ease of this double action. Nothing short of amazing. And I never thought a double-stack .45 would be comforable, seeing as how I find the Glock .40 stock too fat. But this Para is just fine.

200 rounds of hardball S&B on the first trip to the range. No hitches. Accuracy is quite good, and the LDA trigger is actually comforable to shoot one-hand bullseye style. Recoil is surprisingly comfortable. I'm quite impressed. PLUS the two hi-cap mags, with a chit authorizing purchase of two more. Pretty good deal all around.

Carrying IWB is actually more comfortable than my G22. It is slimmer overall, and the butt is shorter, so it conceals easily.

Anyone else here tried this one yet?

I was handed one on the range the other night and it was excellent. I am just as impressed as you are for sure. I have been a big fan and an owner of the Para's since they were still just kits you had to build to make a gun..........

Only one thing:

I'm a lefty. From the time I was a kid I knew I was somehow 'different' form all the other boys.....oops wrong thread....

The safety is right -handed. I have practiced drawing and releasing it with my left hand, and it can be done but requires a lot of hand shift. Can these guns be swithced to ambi or left-hand? There's no hole for it on the right side of the frame.

does it use a barrel link

i put one on lay away i can only get one every 30 days in va.i picked up my sig p232.does the tac 4 use a barrel link.does anybody make scope mounts for it like they do for the 1911,thanks,keith

Yes

it uses a 1911 type swinging link, barrel bushing etc. It's very much a 1911 with the LDA action.
