It's California's fault...

ebay.. and therefore paypal, is based in the peoples republic of California and is therefore under cali restrictions.
You also can't sell butterfly knives, lipstick knives or sword canes, and other stupid restrictions cause of california law.~Nathan

Really odd. Just in the last 2 weeks I've bought holsters, a Streamlight weapon light, and a laser sight for a Kel Tec P3AT, all on eBay from GOLD eBay merchants and all paid with PayPal.

So apparantly their policy doesn't apply to large volume (high profit for PayPal) sellers.

What a crock.

you can buy/sell gun related gear...just not all gun related gear. read their restrictions here:

the OP got dinged for selling high capacity mags which is not allowed per their terms.

The part that is really pissing me off about ebay is the feedback system. I've had a couple of times where I've won an auction and immediately paypaled my money. One auction, it took almost a month to get my item, the sellers communication was non existant and he had a few hundred negative feedbacks. I left him a negative and he left me a negative in retalliation. He then wanted to do a mutual withdrawal. I had a perfect 100% rating and complained to ebay to have his retalliatiory feedback removed and they did nothing. I wasn't about to take back the feedback he left me. Just recently, I got a mossberg 500 barrel that was listed as good shape with bluing worn and a few scratches. I got it and it was starting to rust in several small spots and the bore had some pretty bad scratches. I emailed the seller and he said he'd give me my money back if I sent it back but I knew I'd be out of the shipping costs so I'd have $10 or so out of pocket or so and nothing to show for it. I got a decent price on the barrel so I decided to live with it. The problem is that a buyer can't leave an honest feedback because the seller will just retalliate and then want to go through the mutual withdrawal so what is the point of the feedback then?

Everyone else is either driven out of business by Ebay

Is PayPal harnessing gov't power to pass unethical business restrictions designed to damage the competition?

If not, read as "everyone else fails in business because they can't compete with eBay's business model and market impetus"

And GunBroker is doing just peachy; found a niche and filled it.

Long live the Free Market!

No sorrow that has been posted on all firearms boards for at least 2 years. Use them at your own risk and don't complain when you get bit.

Craigslist is worse than eBay.
There are groups of people who do nothing but "police" CL listings. Check out:

When one of these nuts sees a gun post, they immediately get their buddies to help them "flag" the post off.

It sucks, but as far as craigslist policies are concerned, those asshats are in the right.

Sucks, but them's the rules.
