I shot my 10 gauge double percussion today. Wonderful.
When I started breakdown for cleaning I discovered my nipple wrench would not fit, the wrench is slightly small. I’m not at home right now where I have micrometer and thread pitch gauges etc.
The same nipple fits my Hawken copy and my cap and ball Uberti. Is this different?
I was thinking to replace the nipples with stainless.

Maybe you have been using a slightly over-sized revolver wrench and have been fortunate enough that it has worked up until now.
Or conversely, you have an under-sized rifle nipple wrench.

Many folks have made a homemade revolver nipple wrench by cutting a 1/4" drive socket using a Dremel and a cut off wheel.
Perhaps the same can be done to make a rifle wrench. --->>> https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/1-nipple-wrench.676913/

I second arcticap on making your own wrench.
I've made nipple wrenches from grade 8 bolts and some from sockets and made them to fit perfectly.
They are the best wrenches I have.

I agree with the guys, making your own wrench, any of your own tools is almost as rewarding as making a great shot! :D Sometimes MORE rewarding when you make that special tool, and you deal with a minor problem because you made it "minor" by making a tool to deal with that!

Now as far as fitting.... it sounds that the size and thread pitch is the same as other nipples out there that fit your Hawken and Uberti revolver..., it's just the exposed part of the shotgun nipples that's larger.
So..., make your own wrench OR get another slightly too small wrench, and file the opening just a tad larger to fit the shotgun nipples...then mark it so you know which wrench goes with the shotgun, and so that you don't use that wrench on any of the other nipples and booger them as it will be loose on them, eh? ;)

Hmmm , I have been using Musket caps on my older 10 Gauge Pedersoli magnum wildfowler . I believe I discovered a Musket nipple wrench from my old .58 Zouave repro fit mine .So I used musket caps on it in 70s and decided to try some on the Pedersoli 10 Ga. and they seem to work very well . I don't fire it's 15" long barrels very much anymore. :)
