I currently own a PHP MV-9 ( 4 "). The appearance captivated my attention.

Exotic or ugly?

I like the feel of the grip, kind of like a Smith 39 (or P-38).

Usually I have trouble with a double stack 9mm, but the PHP is an exception. It feels comfortable and natural.

This thread is intended for past or current owners of a PHP.
If you shot one, I guess you qualify too.

Do you like the PHP?
Yes or no.

Thanks.:)

Never heard of that one before.
That's a neat looking pistol. Like a CZ75 and a Luger crossed.
Is take down difficult? Cause it looks like it should be.

In a word, no, I don't particularly care for the design. The grip portion of the frame is alright it's just that I don't know what to make of the slide and barrel configuration. Looks like two different design teams worked on the gun without knowing what the other team was doing.

I haven't shot or held one, but I doubt that I'd spend MY MONEY on one -- even though SOG offers them for around $200. (If you don't want a Hi-Point and you're broke, it may be a cost-effective low-use weapon.)

A search on the web tells you that it's relatively rare and has had a very limited service life. Not that many made and not that many out there. It was brought out in small numbers, production stopped, and then started up again, again at very low levels. Replacement parts or magazines are likely to be made of "unobtanium." The MV-9 was superceded by the HS 2000, which is considered a much better gun. (The HS 2000 is the gun upon which the Springfield XD line is based.)

Enjoy it.

Interesting looking , not at all a turn off. Looks like a cross of a S&W model 39 and Walther P-38 . If priced right I would buy one.
I vote Exotic !
Glocks get the ugly award. I wouldn't buy a Glock if you paid me to own one.
