Pick a Revolver from TV or Movie

I would love to have a Ruger Redhawk Alaskan like the Rock used in "Faster". I wanted one before the movie came out anyway. It's just a tank of a revolver.

I would pick Barney Fife's (Don Knotts) Colt Official Police from The Andy Griffith Show.

Why? Well, we know it wasn't fired much:neener: and I think it would be a cool gift to give my mom (former sheriff deputy) as a bit of an inside joke.

The story behind the joke: When I was as young kid, she always carried a full size .38spcl service revolver. She continued to carry it when semi-autos became the "cool new" guns to carry. So, I always teased her about it being old fashioned and lame. Even now, I jokingly refer to it as her "Ol' Barney Fife Pistol."

FWIW she actually carried a Smith & Wesson and she can STILL shoot a service revolver AND j-frame a little better than me (but that's not really saying too much.)

What about you guys?

P.S. +1 in advance, for being creative and not picking Clint Eastwood's .44 or
one of John Wayne's SAA pistols. (Still great choices BUT not very original.)

451Detonic,

I think you could chop up a few pistols and weld one of those in your garage. LOL.
Definitely get style points for the orange grips though.

It is a Charter Arms Bulldog .44 revolver with the.222 Steyr action added with a second trigger. There have been at least 2 working copies made that I know of.

InkEd, that story about the Barney Fife revolver had me in stiches... :D

For me I'd like to have the honkin' big gun used by Hellboy. Makes my .44Magnum guns look like .22's... :D

Yea, my fiance' wants the Hellboy gun too (comics nerd) it's called the Samaritan and was given to Hellboy by the Torch of Liberty (british version of Cpt. America)

Anyway, my own must-have Hollywood gun? Probably Eastwood's .45 snake-handle from the Dollars Trilogy... or maybe Chewbacca's plasma-bow

I used to work at a place, that had about six security guards. The youngest guy was about 70. They put up with a lot of crap, from the younger guys, especially about the old Colt OPs on Sam Brown belts. One of the common jibes was that they only got one bullet like Barney. It was mentioned that one should be enough for each of them. And one of the security guys said" OH NO, only one bullet period, the deal is you never know for sure which one of us has it."

There after it was refered to as the MX bullet since you never knew where it would pop up! Guess you guys dont remember the missle program.

Truth is any one of those relics would have offed ya with out batting an eye.

Forgot :Gene Autreys SAA Or Maybe Walter Brennans Judge Roy Bean Colt.

Technically, Malcolm Reynolds pistol from Firefly started life as a Taurus revolver, so I'd probably go with that.

Chris "the Kayak-Man" Johnson

A little obscure, but I'd take Sundance's Colt from "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid". I sure like the way he used it in the opening scene. Hope to be that good someday.

Hellboys Samaritan is cool but if i did a real one it would have to be the badguy from cranks 500 snubby or the classic dirty harry 44

Well, for an unusual choice I think I would take Togusa's Mateba from "Ghost in the Shell".

Dirty Harry's SW Model 29, 6.5 inch barrel (but Nickel plated, not blued). In fact, I did pick it - I bought a used SW 29 Classic of this make for my 44th birthday.

Got a couple of hundred rounds through it - very accurate. One purchase in which I know I will never look back.

Angelina Jolie's Comp'd .45 Safari Arms 1911 from the movie 'Wanted'...
