Which would you rather have on you if you ever did need to use a CCW. Just a simple question with an infinite number of answers. I just want to hear yours. It has to be out of these three specific handguns.

1. Ed Brown Kobra Carry 1911 (7+1, .45 ACP)

230 gr .45 ACP Speer Gold Dot Hollow Point @ approx 870 ft/sec with 400 ft*lbs

2. Sig Sauer P239 (7+1, .40 S&W)

180 gr .40 S&W Speer Gold Dot Hollow Point @ approx 1025 ft/sec with 420 ft*lbs

3. Colt Python 2.5" Stainless Steel .357 Magnum (6 shot)

125 gr .357 Magnum Speer Gold Dot Hollow Point @ approx 1425 ft/sec with 565 ft*lbs

Hmm... Which round would be the most devastating to be hit with just a small layer of clothing covering the impacted area

I just want to hear what you would choose and why, it doesn't have to do with me.

My DW bobtail is a copy of the Brown and I carry the 185 DPX +P by Corbon

Para-Ordnance 1911 SSP w/5-inch 1,039fps 443.4 ftlbs
Take off about 50fps and a few lbs for the 4 1/4" barrel. Expansion .70 +

The Kobra Carry, except I'd take off the goofy oversized rubber grips and put on a set of slimline smooth alumagrips, or maybe some Esmeralda slim smooth grips. Nothing makes a CCW gun more uncomfortable than a too-rough grippy oversized rubber grip. They're great for the range, but horrible for daily carry.

already compensated as best as I could for the velocities and energies
The 45 DPX falls right with your 40S&W on FPS and FTLBS But makes a lot bigger hole and faster follow up DPX is great ammo.
Whats not to like
I agree with lonestar45 those grips suck for carry Will cling and expose you pistol. But to each his own.

Would you recommend the stock wood grips for carry? I carry mine in a large smartcarry holster and it has no effect on grip. I have no trouble getting it out quickly and it holds it in place well with the little bit of friction compared to a wood grip, which I like. I also find it much more comfortable and therefore more fun to shoot. It feels solid in my hand and that is why I like it, I just shoot better with it and that is what matters. With the wood grips I am not a professional shooter, but I am a decent shot. I can consistently put a 7+1 round clip within a circle with a 5 inch diameter at 50 feet. I can rapid fire as fast as is possible with all of my shots hitting the lungs/heart... "necessary items to survive" at 3 yards. I am slightly more accurate with the Hogue grips, better so on rapid fire.

Plus I feel more like a ninja with this black and stainless contrast... i like it a lot.
