Checked another off the list last week. I always said if a really nice stainless single six came up, I'd certainly be grabbing it.
Well, this gem came up last week, for a reasonable number, and after my usual BGC delay, I picked it up today. 22lr only, this one isn't a convertible. No worries on that, as I really only shoot those in me old Marlin 882. Ill get out tomorrow and take a few cracks with it, got a rare 3 day weekend for Easter. Hopefully it shoots as good as dad's, they are both 1982 vintage. Probably the last one for a while, but the good news is in the last 2 weeks I've been able to check 2 off the list....this and that Mark 2 I picked up the week before. I'll be holding out for Colt to come out with a blue Anaconda. Hopefully.

Very nice! All of my Ruger SA’s are blued, I just haven’t added a SS version in my set (yet). Your new-to-you stainless SS is a sweet addition for you, looking forward to reading how it shoots when it gets some exercise.

Stay safe.

Fine brace of Super Single Sixes! Really like the lightly polished stainless steel with the faux ivory grips! I'm quite fond of the one I have, given to me by a very good friend of mine when he got out of the trapping business.

Thanks guys. I've been looking for a good stainless for the better part of 4 yrs, and this one is very close to flawless. Don't think it has seen very many rounds, and most likely spent its life in a safe or drawer. I've come across a few others at shows and such, but this one is by far the best of them all.
Thanks for the link @jstert , but I'm going to leave it as is. I had, and still have, an opportunity to pick up a Colt Trooper Mark 3 8", 22 Mag, but one of the factors that killed the deal was the price tag on 22 WMR ammunition. That and the number on it was a bit high for something with no box or papers. By passing on that, I was able to put this and that Mark 2 into my collection for actually less than the price of the Colt.
Gotta drop off the ham at the Griswolds in the city this morning, do a couple quick chores , and then I'll grab all 4 22s and a Thunderbolt 500ct and head out back for the rest of the day. Gonna be a nice one up here for shooting. I'll have a range report on it tonight

Nice purchase!

I had two .22 convertibles at one point, but neither shot as well as my Uberti/Interarms Dakota .22, so when money got tight for us in 2020 the Rugers went and the Uberti stayed.

I still have two centerfire Singles, a Six Vaquero and and stainless Seven (big boy on top is a Super Blackhawk in .44 Mag) -- I love them all to distraction.

Nice snag! I prefer revolvers to be stainless but when I came across a recently traded in, blued Single 6 Convertible at the LGS in May of 2016 I purchased it immediately. The gun showed a good amount of use and the ejector housing was dented & beat looking. Serial number places it as 1980. But the price was right and I like convertible revolvers, being the owner of an H&R Model 676 convertible revolver. Picked up a used ejector housing from Numrich and put some Hi-Viz sights on it, and it has become a favorite. I'm sure it had digested a lot of rounds before I got it, yet it will still outshoot the barely used, mint condition H&R 676. Due to economic factors, the 22LR cylinder is usually in it and it has become my woods walking companion in the fall, during squirrel season, when I'm out changing SD cards on trail cams. Nice. I have a stainless 4 5/8" version, but it unfortunately has the current horrible OEM grips that don't come anywhere close to fitting. Been meaning to look for another set, but haven't gotten around to it.

We stepped out back for a bit this afternoon, and I am very pleased with this one. Pretty easy to tell this thing barely made it out of the house . The grips are rough to the touch, where the grips on dad's are smooth from 5000+ rounds. Trigger is a little heavier, but I'm thinking it needs another few hundred rounds or so to break in the action. By the condition its like a brand new 42 yr old revolver.
Accuracy for the most part wasn't bad, in fact, pretty good considering I'm terrible on a good day and God awful on the rest. I've been getting better as I've been getting out more, and I'd say it's much better than I can shoot it. Used some Aguila super extra 40gr today, had about 80 left in a big box. Dad's gun seems to like those, this one didn't seem to mind them either. I'll get more involved in ammo down the road with em all, but good that it does well with the cheap stuff. I only took it out today, as I ended up getting a bit busy preparing for Sundays feast.
Been a good 2 weeks, picked up 2 Rugers that have been on my want list for awhile, and I gotta say happy with em both. It's gonna be a real fun summer out here.
From the 15 yard marker. I found a Ruger case on the ebay just after I bought this thing, it showed up today.

Nive gun. I bought use one with both cylinders a couple or three years ago. The 22LR cylinder was unfired and the mag cylinder was fired very little. I found one tiny scratch on the the left grip. I swapped cylinders and have only shot it with the LR cylinder. I have some ammo left from my frustrating ownership of a RIA 22 magnum semi-auto so it will probably get shot using this gun. No use it letting it set on the shelf.

I owned a single six 22 mag only for a time many years ago and decided it wasn't worth the cost over a LR model when hunting jackrabbits and prariedogs and sold it. I must have had rocks in my head when I bought the RIA. A tremendous increase in muzzle blast for just a little oomph over a 22 when shooting steel and very ammo finicky and the only one that made it work was hard to find. The SS will be loud but it will be a little farther away as the gun has 6 1/2" barrel. :D

Had both single six out today for a little Easter morning shoot around. I'm much better with dad's, but then I've been shooting that for a long time and the sights just might be adjusted for me, duh. Ran 8 cylinders with both. I think dad's likes that Aguila ammo more than the new to me, so I'll start playing around a bit with a couple other brands I have on hand. There is quite a weight difference, the stainless is almost 6oz heavier. Just a bit different feel going from one to the other, and dad's trigger is a bit better. I think the trigger will get better once I get a few miles on this new one.
Was a good start to the day, the family loved the bacon wrapped smokies and strawberry cheesecake I brought to the party today. Was hoping to get back early enough to maybe pop off a few more but got to shooting the breeze and time just cruised. I'll see how tomorrow early evening is, maybe let some more go after dinner

Got a fair pair here I think
