Pics of your carry rig

Hmph, they photograph better than they appear in person (pity that's not true for me!), who'd a thunk?

Guys, I have at least a dozen more carry options for the few handguns we own, but I think the examples I put out are something of an idea.

:p

Who knows, I just might post the matching black rig when there's some snow on the ground!

(if you don't understand, you'll just have to wait and see!)

I don't want to call my fellow High Roaders "untruth-tellers," or "fibbers," or worse yet, "liars," but I gotta call BS on these pictures as being daily carry rigs (with the notable exception of Marshall's). They look like catalogue photos of NIB leather and guns.

The title is "Pics of your carry rig," not pics of your dress rig!!!!

Fairly disgusted,

Matt, I don't know if the picture of my cordovan Versa Max 2 on page one got lumped into your description or not. I just took the photo and the holster is worn 99 days out of 100 for the past 2+ years. Typically I carry 12-15 hours a day. I know that's not exactly an old holster, but it has seen a fair amount of use and it has held up really well.

I think a couple things contribute to how well it is wearing is that it is made out of horsehide and sharkskin both of which are very tough and then it also rides inside my pants and isn't subject to scrapeing or scratches.

Here's what a Blade Tech Kydex IWB looks like after about 10 years of daily carry, its on from 4:30am to 8:00pm, every day. The one on the right is the holster I use, the one on the left is a new one that I just got as a back up. You can see where the sweat guard snapped off on the one I use. Other than that, and replacing a strap now and then, and thats far less now that they have changed them, its still in great shape.

This is the last Galco Royal Guard I was using before I gave up on them. It's been in a box for about 10 years and its not looking to shabby. It actually looks better than I remember, then again, CRS is setting in. :) It was new and only used about a month before it was retired. The duct tape was an attempt to stop "sweat through" but wasnt much help. I wish I had a pic of it before it dried out. It looks pretty good right now. The main problem I have with leather is, it gets wet and never has a chance to dry out. The Colt in the top pics used to ride in the Royal Guard here. It was originally blued and had to be refinished because of rusting from being in the previous Royal Guard I had. I had it hard chromed and it helped a lot, but kydex is SO much nicer on your body and the gun doesnt get wet, except for where the grip contacts your body.

Matt G:

That hurts. My link isn't to my "daily rig" it's my weekend/travel rig. There are several board members(including a couple moderators) that will verify that none of my guns are safe queens.

No offense taken - just clearing things up.

Rembrandt has the most beautiful guns on the whole of possibly any THRer - man, I'm jealous. P95, nice rig - holster, sig, and crimson trace grips! Green, what folding knife is that on the cash? I'll post my ho-hum pics later.

"clipse"...???
The fanny pack - in the picture??? Is that tragic irony or poetic justice??

Regardless, I think that's awesome!

Clipse, I sincerely hope you emailed MMM with those images attached, thanking them for producing such a quality firearm carrying system :)

Did you read the link in my second post? I did send them an email. I never got a reply but some someone else emailed them inquireing about using the fannypack as a CCW holster and they mentioned me. Yes I sent them a picture along with it. :)

Homesick...

I had almost forgotten how much of "home" to me meant my carry rig... I had to leave my Kimber compact behind :( , and I doubt anyone needs to see another pic of an M16 on a sling. Somehow a 10-finger carry rig just ain't as sexy as boned leather.

Thanks for the pic's. That's a good part of what the 2A is all about, and part of why I'm out here.

Matt,

I decided to take a more recent pic for you. Unfortunately it still might not be "broken in" enough for you. Remember not to confuse broken in with hard used. My stuff is broken in, but I take good care of it.

I'm currently using the slide because my primary carry holster broke (comp-tac) and I'm saving up for my VM II. The knife sheath on the Ken Onion knife looks new, because it is. I just made it a few weeks ago and haven't been able to carry it as much. The EDI I purposely turned clip out just to satisfy you desire to see things that are dinged up.

Maybe I can run over the leather goods a few times with my Jeep if it's not scarred up enough for you... :)

Carry rig with four holsters

The IWB with the metal clip is used most often and it shows most ware. The others are used as needed or wanted.

Is that the lost mag that Don Johnson dropped while running around the set? :)

21H40 and Citadel99 please accept my family's sincere and deepest thanks for your service and for keeping America strong.

thereisnospoon, I used a belt clip on a KetTec P11 as a BUG on a body armor strap - worked great!
To thoses erving overseas, wherever, thank you from one vet to another. Keep yer head down, and get home safe, after exterminating the vermin!

My 10mm Glock 29 in a Blade-Tech IWB (left-hand). Having 10+1 rounds of hard-hitting 10mm in such a small package is a great comfort.
