Does anyone here have a chopped down black powder revolver.
I'm thinking of having @Jackrabbit1957 do some work on a new 1860 army of mine.
My thoughts for rhis uberti is chop barrel to 4.5 inches keep loading lever assembly and reattach with OEM part. Dovetail a new front sight
Skeletonize the hammer and let him do any internal work he wants.

I'm looking for pictures of yall who have chopped down yalls barrels before.

Hello Blackpowderwarior,

That's about what I did with my 1851 Pietta Conversion.
But I left mine 5" long, 5 Shot Kirst in .45 Colt.
I cut it down with a hacksaw, then squred the muzzle in a mill.
Then I cut a crown with a 60 degree countersink by hand.

I also have an 1858 Brasser I cut down, I do have to admit that I got a little too thin right below the mainspring and it ended up cracking the frame there, been thinking on how to fix it, or looking for a new frame to rework it.

Here is a pic of them side by side.
