I thought I would let everybody see my work. It's a Savage M10 .300WSM. I got tired of looking at the ugly factory stock, so I painted it. I used Krylon Fusion Satin Black, Krylon Gray Webbing Spray, and Krylon Crystal Clear Acrylic. Total cost was about $25. I am very happy about how it turned out. Click the thumbnails to elarge.

Thanks for the tip on the KRYLON webbing spray, too.
I can use that on my Remington 700 POLICE factory stock to 'spice it up'.

How does the webbing spray work?

Very cool, looks like some stock synthetics. Convincing look.

The webbing spray shoots out kind of like silly string. Just spray over the stock and you instantly get professional-looking webbing. I had to practice for about ten seconds on a piece of cardboard to get good enough to do the work pictured above.

Just some de-greasing. I used Krylon "Fusion" paint, which is supposed to bond to plastic is some special way. They say no primer is needed.

It is a huge aesthetic improvement over the factory Savage synthetic stock. I agree that it's still the same flimsy, molded plastic stock, however.
One of the things on my list of stuff to do is to replace it with a better-quality synthetic, or a wood stock from Accurate Innovations (if $ allows). However, for a total expenditure of about twenty dollars, I think this was a very worthwhile upgrade.
