My Type 56 Chinese Norinco. Unissued, unmodified, all matching parts. Got it for $150 a few weeks ago. It's only had a little over a 100 rounds shot through it.

Wow great price I just got a Yugo for $280 and that was a good deal these days. I hate the grenade launcher but I bubba'd it up a little and its looking better. I'll get pics up when I can.

I really never wanted one till now. Anybody in texas got one for sale CHEAP. Thats the only way I can talk the old lady into it. Seriously hit me on a PM.

I did this for my wife. It's a Russian unrefurbed in a Polish Honor Guard stock. One of the stocks that was on Ebay or Gunbroker a couple years or so back.

I have a Yugo M59 (not 59/66), so it's pre-gas-cutoff valve/no grenade launcher with an excellently maintained bore and barrel (that was its main selling point, as it came in just over 3 bills in April).

Apparently it too is a Chetnik Unit original! Unusual grain, coloring; I wondered why the guy's name inscribed had three dots in the 'A' (his name was Dado[?]). Hope he was a better soldier than a woodcarver; it's a pretty hamfisted rendering. The rifle was sold to me as a shooter, and it is. For my size it's light and a perfect carbine, if a little short. Milsupstuff.com has some good, thick screw-in recoil pads that lengthen the stock for us full-sized dudes.

I'm currently refinishing the stock (committed a heinous overspray of polyurethane over a first-rate sanding job, dagnabbit!). Will post pics of Dado's Return when I get it improved...

more info...

"The Soviet Union in the late 50's was anxious to improve relations with Yugoslavia and began supplying some arms. The SKS was put into production in 1959 at Kragujevac's "Red Banner" factory. This was designated the M59 and a total of 226,560 was produced for the Yugoslav forces before production shifted to an improved model. The Yugoslav 7.62x39mm Model 59 rifle was an almost exact copy of the Soviet SKS"

The Model 59 was first manufactured in 1960 at the Red Star Arsenal and a year later mass production of the M59 or Polavtomatska puska M59-(PAP M 1959) began. The M59 has a few differences from the Russian, location of the serial number on the bolt carrier left side, difference in the radius on the front of the gas tube, stock is Bukovina [Beechwood] that has been rift sawn giving a different wood grain apperance from the usual and there are parts numbers on all of the parts. The receiver and barrel assembly will drop into a Russian stock without any modification and appear to be exact copies. [ Production lasted until 1967 with 226,560 being produced.] [ to Michael Kreca, from a Military Historian in Belgrade] from

Tapco stock Harris bi-pod, 4 20rnd mags, 4 5rnd mags, and aimpoint in that picture, aimpoint is gone and going to Tech sights now.

I got my Yugo for $100 even about 5 years ago :neener:

To me, all SKSs without the grenade launcher attachment just look like they're missing something.

Norinco with Tapco compliance kit, Williams fire sights, Leapers scope and Choate scope mount.
