Stayed home late to get the car oil changed today and found Today show host Matt Lauer interviewing Piers Morgan. Piers is blaming his falling ratings and firing from CNN on the NRA, not on the fact that he was bad, boring, and trying to impose his effete brand of British snobbery on America. I know many have seen lately that he's working for Hollywood to put out a new anti-gun documentary and now I get it; he won't accept his own incompetence.

After tossing up breakfast, I came to a revelation; no longer just an NRA life member; as of today, I'm an NRA-ILA contributor as well. Who'll join me?

To folks like this, this is an obsession! He will continue till his work visa is revoked....which is not going to happen. As to a documentary, perhaps Moore will join him....they are like kind. It's out 2d rights they want to destroy.

Maybe Bloomberg hired him? I thought Piers got deported.....

NRA membership.....

I re-joined the NRA & plan to extend my dues for one more year.
I do not donate extra funds but I also do not critize those NRA members who do.

One big point Id make with the NRA senior leadership & the ILA is to not(quit) giving guns or training-material-support to sworn US law enforcement agencies who do not endorse or support 2A/gun issues.
This to me, is a double standard & hypocritical for a police agency to accept $ or firearms/skill training from the NRA law enforcement section then later testify against new statues or laws that help armed citizens/CCW holders or those sheriffs/chiefs/command staff that bad-mouth private citizens & the carrying/owning guns.
Recently, my state looked to change some statues re: declared emergencies(state and/or federal). The pro-gun/pro 2A groups wanted to allow CCW license holders/gun owners to be allowed to have weapons during these stressful, dangerous times. :uhoh:
Several sheriffs, chiefs & prosecutors(lawyers) railed against these bills. They made excuses & huffed and puffed about "officer safety" but wanted to string the CCW license holders & armed citizens along.
The NRA(ILA) should not bankroll or support these senior LE officials or offer programs/guns to them then watch them get burned.
That's not fair to the paid NRA members & 2A supporters.

We've been telling members here that their money needs to go to the NRA-ILA and their state RKBA organizations for quite a while.

Thanks, RetiredUSNChief, for those links!

Morgan's primetime CNN slot has rendered him the pompous pudding-face of Britain for much of the United States. However, it's worth pointing out to Americans that the UK finds Piers Morgan annoying too: he was voted the 7th most annoying person of 2013 by the Daily Mail and a scientific(ish) assessment by the Guardian suggested he may well be a psychopath. When it comes to a mutual dislike of Piers Morgan, it appears that the Special Relationship is alive and well.

British Citizen and CNN television host Piers Morgan is engaged in a hostile attack against the U.S. Constitution by targeting the Second Amendment. We demand that Mr. Morgan be deported immediately for his effort to undermine the Bill of Rights and for exploiting his position as a national network television host to stage attacks against the rights of American citizens.

Idiots like P. Morgan make my skin crawl, but as the White House response to the petition to have the lunatic deported reminds us, Let’s not let arguments over the Constitution’s Second Amendment violate the spirit of its First."

I'm with you Rusty. I'm a card carrying member, but I don't write a check every month when I get a letter from the ILA asking to stop Obama.....

I am a member of the NRA and I vote in line with 2A protection.

This is just like MSNBC blaming Ebola on the NRA. It is like paranoia. Extreme cases see everyone around them as a constant threat. Antis think everything is fault of the NRA. Piers will do anything to get back on a pedestal that he thinks people are listening to.

Please allow me to correct myself:

Idiots like P. Morgan make my skin crawl...

There is nothing to compare to Piers Morgan. "Idiot" is too mild a term, but "psychopath" has a nice ring to it.

Bah.

Don't send Piers Moron back here, it took us years to get rid of him. (and the phone-hacking scandal is sniffing at his heels)

Just last week, he was blaming Anderson Cooper, the host of the "news" show that aired in the time slot before his. His rationale was that Cooper wasn't pulling enough viewers to the time bloc for him to have any "stay-over" watchers. He even made mention of the vast viewership FNN's Megyn Kelly and Bill O'Reilly both pull, and lamented that fact that neither he nor Cooper could ever compete.

Grasping somewhat, Piers?

Glad to hear that my NRA dues are accomplishing something worthwhile. Hopefully, Piers won't be able to get a visa to stay since he is unemployable.

Unrelated here (a digital, original sin...), but wasn't "Comrade Piers" literally punched out a few years ago by BBC America's 'Top Gear' Jeremy Clarkson?

Could somebody ship an AR-15, as a free token of "friendship" to Pier's home and film it being delivered?

Piers Morgan is a very intelligent but unwise, middle-aged man who behaves much like an insolent adolescent boy who craves attention, and will do or say whatever it takes to get that attention to include demagoguery. Piers Morgan and Bill O'Reilly could swap places without qualm because for guys like that it is not about beliefs it is about being believed and receiving adoration. I hope some legal way can be found to ship him back to the U.K. To bad we can't do the same with O'Reilly and Ireland since he is a U.S. citizen.
