pietta 44 colt brass frame

my new pietta colt's manual say's 12,15 grains tolerance 3F
but every other loading chart say,s 25 to 28 grains. which is correct.
It is an 1851 confederate brass frame colt 44

All the mfgs list low loads. Liability, you know.

You should be safe with the 25 to 28. I shoot 30 in my ASM brass '60. I could try more, but it is pleasant and accurate enough for me.

I shoot 20-25 gr. in my identical pistol. It loves it!

Ditto's to what George and John said. The manufacturers all list VERY conservative loads as their max loads.

Since it is a brass frame, I would keep loads on the low side.

I shot a brass frame navy until the frame stretched and it wouldn't shoot anymore. If I had it to do over again, I'd have shot lighter loads. Probably would have worn out anyway. Brass sux.
