pietta/uberti hammer screws

Hi,

I've got a civilian 1860 Army Uberti circa 2000 coming and was wondering if a hammer screw from a Pietta would fit or not. Any body know? A friend of mine has a Pietta, but he lives almost 2 hrs away (and doesn't have any Uberti stuff).

I'd say not. Pietta and Uberti parts are generally not interchangeable.

I just went and checked. They're not interchangeable. Threads are the same; but the screw head and pin diameter are different. Uberti screw head and pin diameter are smaller than the Pietta.

Why not order the correct screw? $2.95 ($5.50 for a hardened one).

Because I'm not just thinking about replacing the screw. There's a buttstock for a '51 Pietta involved. My local gunsmith can turn firing pins. I'm hoping he can turn a screw.

If you have a local Smith that well turn a screw for $10 bucks your in heaven.
