Curious to hear how you would take my stock Savage 11 with accutrigger and turn into a long-range tactical shooter.

What would you change/add?

Stock:
Scope:
Bipod:
Sling:

Goal is 700 yards max.

I customized my model 12 in 22-250. I added a 26 inch .308 Pac-Nor barrel, Farrel 20 moa tilt down base, 30 mm Warne rings, Super Sniper scope (will upgrade to Leupold someday), Harris bipod. Still need to upgrade the stock to something better than the stock pillar bedded one I have shown; might get a Medalist. The silencer is one I made on an ATF form 1. It shoots 1.5" groups at 200 yards using 168 grain HPBT and 4064 powder.

Nice. Is your SS a 3-9 or a 10 fixed? I've heard great things about the SWFA SS on Sniper's Hide.

What's your take?

It is a 10x42. They have decent glass and lots of elevation; 120". I have broken two on 50 caliber rifles and another on a 44 magnum contender carbine. Bushnell fixes or replaces at a reasonable cost though. I like Nightforce and Leupold more, but they cost much more too.

Nice suppressor Ranb. Cool to see good DIY hardware. Dang shame you have to pay the man for the "right" to make them. You guys help show how silly that is.

I've been thinking about something similar. Here's my thoughts. Bell & Carson Medalist stock. Er Shaw barrel in .308 , savage replacement in varmint profile( my goal is different so I'm thinking 20", but you may wish longer). Harris bipod. And for now I'm looking at Mueller Tac 2 Tactical Rifle Scope 3-10x. From what I can find its a good one for the price. Until it's built I won't know the load, but I'm aiming for 150-165 grain bullets.

I got my barrel made in a 1-12 twist for reasons I no longer remember, but it shoots 175 grain match bullets poorly, better to go with 1-10 I think.
