Pink .22?

That's pretty tasteful. The pink duracoat jobs I usually see end up rather garish. Tasteful without being gaudy.

Shipwreck, the instructions are a big pile of crap. I bent the guide rod trying to get that stupid firing pin assembly out. I finally figured out that a little bit of the assembly shows from the bottom of the slide assembly (I just pull the whole tinkg off the pistol first) and that if you push from the bottom, and then pull on the guide rod a bit, then push from the bottom again, you can kind of wiggle it out. I'm hoping that it will get easier now that I've had it out once. This pistol sure doesn't win any marks for ease of takedown, that's for sure!

Yea, my guiderod is a tiny bit bent too trying to get it out. I needa shoot it again to make sure it works fine.

I even took it back to my local gun store, and they couldn't figure it out.

It's tough to get the slide off with the guiderod still attached, though. The end of it sticks into the recoil post. It took me a while to get it off last time.

Thats so cool. *Starts thinking of gun project for my daughter*

Check that grip out in the second image of the three posted... the right thumb should be on the grip and not over the left hand. Just an FYI. Time to sign her up for bullseye league!

(PS: THERE ARE WAY TOO FEW juniors involved in Olympic shooting sports like air pistol and free pistol. There is a lot of grant money out there for juniors who qualify to go to the Olympic training center each year in CO.)

Hey TX! That came out great! Looks like a fun project, and now you got me inspired to finally camo one of my SWS rifles! Good job, and keep the pics comming if you do another project, BTW range pics are great too! It is great to see a kid getting out and shooting!

Nice!

I'm looking to get my daughters an auto loader .22 as well. Started off with the Ruger Single Six...a little on the heavy side for both of them (12 & 14)...or maybe I'm just making excuses to get another pistol

I'm looking at either the Buckmark, P22, or ruger 22/45...can't decide

BTW, your daughter's grip looks just fine to me.

this is the duahgter... thank you, kevin g, i think my grip is just fine also. its nice to have some support, even fom people that i dont know

That's great, I bought my youngest daughter a pink Cricket .22lr a few years back. And now at 8 she decided that she didn't want a pink gun and made me sell it.

You can buy replacement stocks in the other colors from their website for $35. I actually bought my daughter the standard black gun and the pink stock as an extra, for the very reason you mention.....so she can switch to the black stock later.

That's it, I think I'm motivated to paint my XD 9mm pink.
Is it safe to paint the entire slide? How easily does it come off if I want to sell the gun?

It wont come off easy, but you can basically media blast it and refinish in black.

For less then $100 you can send it to CCR Refinishing and they will Duracoat it pink for you, they do a damn good job.

Well Daughter, most likely your Dad will leave your stuff alone!
Have two gals 8 and 11 with a blue and pink Chipmunks .22s.
Scopes were a little hard to get to hold on the tiny rails, but
once on seemed to stay. These two gals live accross the canyon
from me. The oldest just got her HAM license last month!:) :)
