but this rules out +P+ ammo since it'll kaboom a Glock

I wish I had known this years ago. I have run literally thousnads of Federal HS 124 GR +P+ from a local LE friend through my G17 and G19 without a problem. And all this time I never knew...

On to the topic at hand. I have a Glock 9mm Sub2K that is literally a blast to shoot. I got it for a fun gun, not so much defensive use. It would not be my primary go to gun, but in a pinch, 33 9mm +P+ Hydra-Shok's or +P Gold Dot's would be better than a stick. If I need optics, I'll grab the 16" Bushy. The Sub2K is light and recoil is almost non existent with the 9mm round. And as was stated before, the G18 33 round mags just add to the fun. I think you'll like it. Mine was ~$300 locally.

get you a newest version keltec, i have one that i tricked all out, lihgts, lasers, buttstock ext, picc rail ext, you can get both of those from keltec. get the one that works with your glock mags, and get you a couple fo 30 round mags and go to town! these are so much fun , you will need the cheaper 9 mm ammo to feed the beast.

This is very interesting. Does +P+ void Glock's warranty? How expensive is +P+ over +P 9mm ammo?

Flip: how do you like shooting with those grips on the S&W 520?

I have a 9mm AR that I love. I bought it mainly because I can shoot it at the indoor range, but I also thought aboutthe SHTF type stuff, althought I'm pretty set on rifles), i have mainly 9mm pistols and plenty of ammo for them. So it makes good sence to have a 9mm carbine.

I chronoed some loads from it just to see what was gained from the longer barrel, some of the loads were pretty impressive. I like the Gold Dot's the best.

This is from a RRA 16" barrel

I have never heard that +P+ voids the warranty. As for the price, I can't say. I pay $10 for a box of 50 Gold Dot +p's, and the local LE guy gives me boxes of the +P+ Hydra-Shok's.

JeepDriver, thanks for the chrony numbers. I'm hoping to do some test of my own if the local outdoor range will let me set up a chronograph.
