you need to move to Michigan, you almost need a permit NOT to own a pistol. your story is rediculous in the manner that something like that could happen. i hope you can find a smoother manner of transaction in the future. i also understand you must be 21 in some states (including mine) for pistol ammunition, that does make sense to me, but a fully grown adult shouldnt be questioned like that.

You have to be 21yo to purchase from a dealer. One can purchase handgun ammunition from a private party at the age of 18.
