I was reading the specs on the newly offered Freedom Munitions uppers and I was surprised (at the very least) to see that they list a pistol length gas system in the specs for the 5.56 16" upper. I'm not interested in buying a new upper but out of curiosity I wanted to ask whether this could be true or whether they might have mistakenly listed the specs for the300 BLK upper which they also offer. I don't remember ever seeing or hearing of anybody using pistol gas in a 16" barrel.
Here's the actual ad copy from the Freedom Munitions website: (it's under "Additional Details")

If it sells then they recover the costs on a screwup. And it might be a workaround for a state law that doesn't allow pistols up front but will after they are NFA'd. Just speculation on my part.

Pistol gas on a 16" would be way way way overgassed and beat the crap out of the BCG. typo
