I reform .223/5.56 brass down to 7.62X25 and 7.63X25. Often the necks are too thick with the bullet seated.

So, I bought the Forster inside neck reamer and it is too large and the bullets fall inside.

So, I bought the Forster outside neck trimmer. After figuring out the instructions for half an hour, I find it doesn't even come close to the brass. I contacted Brownell's and I was told the neck trimmer is ONLY FOR RIFLE CARTRIDGES, which the ads do not mention!

Is there a neck trimmer for pistol-size cartridges?

Years ago I bought a SINCLAIR MODEL 1000 NECK TURNING TOOL for nect turning 220 Russian brass I fireformed to 6mm PPC tight neck. I dug out the tool and it looks like it will do 7.62 x 25 cases no problem. I just don't have a mandrel for the 7.62 x 25 cases. However, I set a 7.62 x 25 case I made from a 223 round on the thing and it should work. If you go this route I would call Brownell's and make sure before you buy one.

You can buy reamers in 0.0005" steps, and custom to any size. Then you will need to secure the brass (in a sizer, like above) to prevent it from expanding when you run it through.

You can order a custom reamer from Forster for about $30. I believe you need it to be . 302. This is my next project, buying a tokarev conversion barrel to shoot out of my 38 super 1911.

You can also buy a smaller base for your Forster trimmer. I bought one to help with my trimming of Luger brass to makarov.

Of course this is all with the case trimmer. Hope this helps
