pistol scope which one?

whats a good pistol scope for 44 mag desert eagle? I would like to spend less than the leupold. I tried a used leupold m8 the eye relief wasn't enough or so i thought only mounted it for a moment to check it out. so longer eye relief might be better for me.

Well, I have a Weaver 2x on my Smith and Wesson 629, and I like it pretty good. I'm 5'8" and at arms length the eye relief seems just right. I'm sure it's not as great as a Leupold, but at the used price I paid, I can't complain. It has held a zero well through 100 270 grain handloads also. I don't know if it would work for you or not, I've never shot a semi-auto bigger than .45 ACP. Hope this helps.

I had a Leupold on a 454 Casull that was perfect.
Another gun I should have kept.
Oh well.

From what I recall it was a straight 4 power EER Leupold. I used Three TSOB Rings with a bit of epoxy on the mount and rings. With certain epoxies, if you heat them up, you can then remove whatever it is that you had originally epoxied.

you can adjust the eye relief on a leupold. I shortened mine enough to be used as a scout scope. (2x)

loosen the lock ring, turn the eyepiece to move forward or backward. moving the eyepiece forward increases eye relief. that's what all those threads are for. in a scout mount I moved my eyepiece most of the way back.

Not at all sure I agree with that.
The screw adjustment on the eye piece of any scope, including all handgun scopes, is to focus the scope for your individual eye so the cross hair appears sharp & in focus on target.

Screwing it in or out far enough to change the eye relief would also very likely put the scope out of focus and make the reticule fuzzy & blurred for most peoples eyes.

I would just opt for a red dot... I HATE pistol scopes!!!! They are horrible... you spend FOREVER finding the site picture...

optic on a pistol... I am going with a red dot every time...

that's what the instructions that come with the scope say. well, perhaps I paraphrased it wrong. here's the insert that came with the scope. (leupold m8-2x)

nobody's who's used it has complained of blurriness.

Well, you proved me wrong there for sure.

That is something I had never seen in print, and I have a Leupold M8 on a Marlin lever-gun. Course, I bought the scope used on eBay with no instruction sheet.

Learn something new every day!!

I'd still contend that most any other rifle scope eyepiece adjustment does not work that way though without screwing up the reticule clarity.

I bought my leupy for my marlin on your recommendation. mine just came with instructions I guess. it's been great. I agree that doing that on most scopes is for focus and not eye relief.

I put a red dot on my .454 raging bull once and blew it a part. The dot went from the center too I still don't know where but not in the center.
