While carrying is less common in many parts of California because it depends on the county sheriff allowing it, I still don't like to support chains I know prevent delivery drivers from carrying.
Pizza delivery drivers have one of the most dangerous professions, and need to carry more than most. Being on call to drive wherever a caller wants, and it being a service well known to all of society including desperate elements, they are often targets.
In fact they are one of the top homicide victims by job. They fit in a category though with safer jobs at the federal level (bureau of labor statistics) like much more numerous truck drivers that are rarely victims so it makes it appear less dangerous than it really is.
Taxi drivers and pizza delivery drivers have some of the highest victimization rates of all professions, and corrospondingly high homicide rates.
Police and security have rates several times lower by comparison.
Disarming them is practically criminal itself.
I would feel better purchasing pizza from a place that allowed its employees to carry.
