Never wrestle with a pig they enjoy it, and before long you can't tell who is who. Twain I think.
statistics show that a greater percentage of people who own guns for self defense/home defense end up having their gun taken from them and used on them".
I do apologize for the lack of spaces in between paragraphs, I honestly blame the Windsor County School systems, school for me was one community project after another, Building Bridges with the Army Corps of Engineers, Highway Clean-up, stacking wood for the elderly, Etc.......Not too much academia at all from 4th grade on up.
As for looking for the cat with a machete, a machete is a tool used to hack down thick vegetation to help clear a path, I live in VT, I'd like to see anyone of you negotiate the terrain I was without one.
Myles, You sound ignorant, my neice was in no danger whatsoever, why I feel the need to explain myslelf I'm not sure, but the machete was sheathed as my pistol was holstered. that is something you could not have known from reading my OP, but u presume to know enough about this particular situation to deem me irresponsible with a firearm and an edged weapon.
Other posters were able to use common sense to understand my poorly punctuated thread and contibute useful information, you however post useless information about insignificant details that I didn't elaborate on because they didn't have much to do with anything. I have no sense of humor when it comes to safety and would never endanger anyone, much less a member of my own family. See how your ignorance effects others? BTW, was that better, as far as punctuation and line breaks?

Sorry to break it to you, she is not dead wrong. She is 100% correct, but what she is arguing really has nothing to do with whether someone should or should not own guns.
So who do you think she was referring to when she so flippantly stated that "it couldn't be correct or A VERY PRO GUN WRITER"? Was she saying that someone with the FBI was skewing the numbers because they were very pro gun, or was she accusing the reporter who published the numbers of being a lier?Give her a copy of gun-facts and ask her to move to Mass. Love the gun facts and keep a copy on my coffee table. You would not believe how much enjoyment that thing has brought me.
I showed my sister in law an article in the local paper 3 days ago that stated the new FBI gun violence stats....all time low for the past 30 years, she said it couldn't be correct or a very pro gun writer. Know what I told her....move to Mass. LOL
