I'd appreciate any help with identifying this trigger on my Mauser 98. It was passed down to me, and I don't know the rifle's history. It's been sporterized, and I'm guessing this is an aftermarket trigger.
Looks like the screw that points directly up at the receiver (the screw with the locknut), adjusts sear engagement.
The other two screws appear to be part of the band-type piece that binds the trigger itself to the sear adjustment mechanism. Is that right?
Is this indeed an aftermarket trigger? Anyone know who made it?
The receiver is stamped "byf 44", which if I remember correctly, means it was produced in Oberndorf in 1944.
The barrel measures about 21" from the muzzle to where it joins the receiver. What were the original barrel lengths for this rifle?
THANKS
