I've been a member here for a bit and lurked waay longer than that before I joined. I routinely see posts that state, "My FFL can beat Bud's prices, etc." I know there are sites that list FFLs in your area. But we all know that's a crap shoot.

According to current stats, we have "Members: 165,489, Active Members: 11,420."

Untapped resource anyone???

We all want to support our LGS. If you know someone offering good service and prices, NFA, whatever, please tell the rest of us who they are! My proposal is simple: Title your post here with your city and state. In the post put your favorite LGS contact information - business name, address, phone, web, email, whatever. Please also include why you think they're awesome and how they Wowed you (prices, delivery times, access to certain items, etc.) I am not asking you to post any pricing, a link to their site will provide up to date information if this idea works.

Using the search function, anyone can find the posts relevant to their area.

Two things: I would prefer that we not use this space to object to any LGS or Big Box. Keep it positive so you can share and encourage others to utilize your favorite LGS. They'll make more money and you'll get better deals as a result. Hopefully. Also, I would respectfully submit that if you are a member of this forum representing an LGS / FFL / etc. that you refrain from posting your own info here and simply wait for one of your faithful customers to do it for you.

Mods: I put this in General to get as much attention as possible. I realize it belongs better in, "Rate..." Maybe give it some time until people know it exists there(if it works)??? Or, tell me I can't hit the broad side of a barn from the inside. Just hoping here.

I'm first:neener:

D&T in Madison, TN at Rivergate. Veteran owned GREAT owners and staff.

They are mainly on tho

Cheers,

Ts

Two of my favorites are Gun World in Burbank, Ca. And, Martin B Retting in Culver City, Ca. Retting has a larger selection of used guns, but it's a toss up on who has more new guns.

Gun World is different. It's several rooms that seem to meander, and everytime I go in, I find something new tucked away.

Thanks jeepnik! Come on guys - keep 'em coming! Don't forget to tell us where and why!

The Firing Line in Denver, CO. Pretty big shop, TONS of inventory, and despite a lot of new faces, the guys I deal with there I have been for 15 years now. Pricing is always fair, sometimes even better than the big boxes. At least part of the staff on a given day is knowledgeable, and most are very friendly. This shop is also a Title II dealer, and they have an indoor range with modest fees ($15/no time limit, IIRC).

One of the reasons I like this place is the phenomenal used gun selection. I know what's out there for new stuff, and if I want it, I'll just go get it-I can't spend hours looking at new guns. But some of the treasures that turn up there on a fairly regular basis make it worth stopping in whenever I can. I just picked up a very clean Western Field model 30 in 20 ga there for $99! It's an 80 mile round trip for me to go there, but well worth it when I have the time.

There are a couple of other local shops I go to from time to time, and I like them, but they simply don't cater to my tastes. Racks and racks of AR's, AK's Glocks and other modern stuff just doesn't beckon me to walk in the door.

KESSELRING'S Gun Shop. I have not been there for years, but when we were young we would go there with our summer job money. I bought a 760 there in 1969, I used that rifle on last year's deer hunt. Many memories of buying bulk 7.62 Nato tracers and armor piercing rounds. Borrowing a couple bucks from friends to buy a bigger box of shotgun wads, etc.

I'm in Broward County, Florida. My favorite LGS for gun purchases is Guns, Sons, & Ammo in Margate. Always the best price on whatever I'm looking for.

My gunsmith (and any advice I need) is Guntech in Ft. Lauderdale. Very knowledgeable, fair pricing IMO, overall great people. I see LEO's from Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties in there all the time.

PAC N Arms in Sanford Maine. Small shop but huge volume. Excellent customer service and down right decency.

Cedar Valley Outfitters in Marion, IA (Cedar Rapids) They are your go to guys for AR/Glock advise but as an AK/XD guy they still make me feel at home. Not to mention they have increased their AK line dramatically and they offer several courses from "defensive carbine" to "ladies night CCW classes"

http://oakridgecustomfinishing.com/ in Warner Robins Ga.

Small shop, great guys. Easy to deal with. Did an excellent job on my '41 Remington. I bought a Marlin from them too, cleanest rifle I have ever purchased used. They run reloading classes and sell anything you need.

The one and only Williams Gunsight in Davison, MI. Friendly full service gun shop, shooting range and world-class gunsmithing services.

northeastern firearms, turner Maine. I drive 2 hours away to go to his shop.

I had 2 very negotive visits with PAC n arms and I will never step foot in his shop again

Corvallis Guns,

Nothing special about 'em except for the fact that they welcome everyone, I've never bought a lemon and that they somehow manage welcoming the average hunter still in camouflage, my pink haired, tattooed and pierced wife and a gaggle of Asian college students in one store without making anyone feel uncomfy or unwanted.

Dave and Misty are probably the reason me and ze wife are into guns in the first place. 8) We have to go shooting when I come back for sure!

The best gun shop in North Alabama (Maybe all of AL) is Larry's Pistol & Pawn located in the city of Huntsville.

Actually, I like Bud's Guns (Lexington, KY): Free shipping, no tax and I can get free transfers. What's better than that?

My LGS is Courtesy Sporting and Pawn in Carlsbad NM, prices are great service is freindly and knowledgable and they will order anything they dont have.

Liberty Guns and Ammo, in Homer, IL. They are also the smallest shop I've ever been in. Some of you folks probably have dining rooms bigger than their shop. They will usually only have about 20-30 long guns at any time, and about 5-10 handguns, but they'll order you anything at a low markup, and their stock prices are competitive. They have a surprisingly good selection of ammunition, especially 22 lr. They're the only place that I can find CCI SGBs. Dean is very friendly and always makes me feel welcome. If you are ever going down I-74, take exit 197 and take the 5 mile drive to Homer to stop by.

I don't like any of my LGSs. Overpriced, rude, nothing interesting in stock. Buying things online is the way to go.

Pictures: I can dig that. Had the same problem for a while too. But, you still need an FFL to accept shipments. Do you have a good one of those?

Let's try to keep this positive. Thanks for the replies guys!

Product knowledge and personable service that I haven't found elsewhere.
Despite having numerous other LGS close to my home,
I will gladly drive an hour to Newington Gun Exchange every time.
