Big selection, lots of staff, mostly friendly, and a few very knowledgable guys. They have one cranky guy, but lots of good people.

He might be good for someone though, right? Lol, when I lived in Charlotte, NC back in the day everything was 45 minutes away.

They got more guns on the wall than for sale, half of them are museum pieces.
and he and the staff are willing to get just about anything for you, and yes you will pay for the service, but they are also willing to admit when they have no clue and help you find the answer. More than a few times I have had one counter looking more like a reference library than a service counter

Jerrys Sport Shop in Ambrose, GA.
Good staff, Friendly people who can joke a bit. Good prices and decent amount of reloading stuff. Nothing to fancy. Plenty of long guns.

Moultrie Shooter Supply located in Moultrie, GA
Again, Good staff and friendly people. Not a big selection on handguns but decent on the long guns. A good shop for reloading stuff and in house gunsmith.

I go to these two all the time. Buy from them all the time.
All my guns came from these two minus 2 of my guns.
Used prices on their guns are pretty fair and can be worked with even on the lay away plan.

2nd GunTech in Pompano Beach, FL

Small shop, but very fair, very knowledgable and just plain pleasant to deal with. But - they can't always beat the online prices and can't always get what you want ...

Another vote for PAC-N-ARMS in Sanford, Maine. Very small shop, but he does huge volume, and a lot of NFA / Class III stuff. Ammo prices are better than Wally-World.

www.pacnarms.com (don't judge an LGS by its website)

It is a local, but has only a fair selection of milsurp rifles: "Classic Arms", Cordova TN. No other store in the area seems to have more than a few.

My two favorite stores are "The Ammo Depot" in Caddo Mills, TX, very near I-35, about 35 min. northeast of Dallas/Rockwall. They might still be open on Sunday afternoons.

The other favorite is "Al's Guns", 825 Dover Rd., south of Ft. Campbell, Clarkesville TN.
Both stores are inconvenient from Memphis, but have nice selections, helpful staff, and are very near the roads to two relatives.

Agreed, that's why I listed them as best "gunsmith".

Bob and Jake are the best. Prices are fair, espscially on trade-ins. Never waited more than two days for special order. Great place just to talk guns. I won't buy anyplace else.

Whitakers guns in owensboro kentucky....best overall pricess hands down....service is a B+ ....family owned and operated...thousands of guns in stock from 50 cal barrets to old break open 22s made in the early 1900s...and hundreds of pistols...its a gun nuts dream

E-Z Pawn & Gun in Clarksville, AR. Last time I bought a gun there every gun whether it was in inventory, new or used, or had to ordered was 10% over cost. My brother trades there and has seen guns he's traded in the display case for 10% more than what he was given on trade. Not a huge inventory on hand but Jeff can order and have just about anything that's available in two days. As you might guess, it's a very busy place.

My LGS rarely beats Buds. I don't shop based on price. I shop local and pay what they are asking. I want them to stay in business and I am willing to pay a bit more. This whole pay the least mentality is what has gotten this country into some of it's problems. Go Try and find a good hardware store. The pimply faced kids at Home Depot are of no help if you have a problem. Mom and pop stores are gone. Wallmartbran them out of business by driving prices down by forcing mfg overseas. Surprise surprise that folks in yhebUSA cant find a decent mfg job anymore. Pay 15% more and keep the locals in business. The margins in firearms are horrible. My brother was in the business and I used to get wholesale prices.

My absolute favorite was The A.W. Peterson's Gun Shop in Mount Dora,FL I have more guns in my safe from there than any other. The owner are the sons of the late Leighton Baker,a well respected gunsmith from earlier years.Stuart runs the shop and Cary is a Florida State senator who is a champion of gun rights,no suprise.Another great shop in central Fla is Buffalo Bill's on Corrine Drive in east Orlando. The focus is black powder, and the staff is absolutley the best on the subject. Both shops have been in business long enough to know how to treat the customer.
