i bought a desantis for my p3at and now need a pocket case for my 642. In fact, I wouldn't mind also having a clip on holster for my 642 too. Not for concealed carry ,but for carrying in the woods on my hip.

any suggestions? I'll do some searches too, but thought you might help. as always, thx.

Mika No Doubt

Davidd-

Try one of these in square or round cut. Here is the round. The "mouth" is spring loaded with plastic and held open. Smooth and quick draw. Stays in the pocket as it should. For $20 you can't go wrong.

The beauty of this rig is in its function.

For an an inside or outside the belt there are ballistic nylon units for around 15 dollars at your LGS that can be worn with the clip inside, have a belt loop to for outside. I have one with an adjustable snap thumb break. All this adjustable with velcro and will work right or left side. Not the perfect way to go but a great deal of versatility in one holster and the price is right. I have one for a couple of my autos and need to get one for the 642, thanks for reminding me.

Mika or Kramer

Each one will give you an entirely different fit. It depends on the pants you are wearing. You will eventually end up with a couple different styles. I would start with a Mika. It costs less and works very well.

Mika Pocket Holster without a doubt. Worth every penny of a very reasonable price (under $20). Great personal customer service. Money back guarantee (he usually sends the holster with an invoice--who does that anymore???)

I have a DeSantis Pocket Nemesis for each of my guns. It fits well, conforms to the gun, resists perspiration, is very soft and lightweight and stays put in my pocket. My 642 carries well inside it. For under $20, it's unbeatable IMO.
