Pocket revolver

C'mon guys, don't recommend a Taurus Snub Nose revolver. While the revolver itself is fine the trigger is TERRIBLE and remains bad even after 1,000 trigger pulls with snap caps. If Taurus would do something about their trigger they would win over a lot of shooters with the prices they charge.
You're kidding right?

Taurus J-frame sized centerfire guns have better triggers than equivenent S&W (I don't know how the SP101 compares). I have had two (and have one) Taurus snub. I have a S&W. I've also tried quite a few others dry firing at the store. On every one, the Taurus triggers are better. It isn't just me- I've heard this from quite a few other people as well. This isn't true of the larger guns though Taurus is close (Taurus isn't bad on any but the rimfire revolvers).

To the OP-

Since you already have the guns, go with the 642. It is the only one light enough to really be suited to pocket carry (even occasional). If you didn't already have them, I'd suggest the 442 (the way I went) since it is basically the 642 with a blue style finish and for the past couple years they have been a little less money.

If you didn't already have them, I'd also suggest considering the Taurus 85 over the 605 since you say you won't be shooting these with magnum loads. The 85 cuts a couple ounces off the 605. It is just barely light enough for shorter periods of pocket carry (I don't think I'd want to do it all day, but for short periods it is fine). Maybe you'd consider trading it in? Or maybe the extra 2oz. doesn't bother you.
