It's another example of why you should be as discrete as you can when carrying. The guy had a CCW license and witnesses did not see a gun, so I'm assuming he was carrying concealed and was printed or said he had a gun. Let's not make this into a "police are lying to cover themselves" discussion, but The "suspect is armed" part made a significant impact on how the situation was handled. I bet if the call went in without the "he has a gun" part he may only have been tazed.

Summerlin is a very nice area; there was really little reason for the cops to fear a confrontation, but it seems that their ONLY concern is with their personal safety. Perhaps they figure the "blue wall of silence" will protect them from prosecution.

I work retail. The article said he was shot wtihin twenty feet of the doorway to the costco. That means at least one camera outside, possibly one inside could confirm what happened. I find it interesting that three witnesses all reported different events from the police. Too bad also the article doesn't mention any further what, if any merchandise was destroyed in the store that the employee who called the police from the beginning into anymore detail.

Seems a bit fishy that the three witnesses in close proximity report that they never saw the man have or attempt to reach for a gun but only the police say he did.
